Youth Group Apple Picking Fundraiser

The CHWUC Youth Group is reviving the Apple Picking Fundraiser and we are asking people to order your apples ahead of time so that we can pick them accordingly.

On Sunday, October 5th, the Youth Group will be heading to the Annapolis Valley to pick apples for those who pre-order beforehand. You can use this form to submit your order. Payment can be made in cash, cheque or etransfer.

  • We are working on a paper order form that can be printed and brought to church or picked up at the church for those who do not have a printer.

Pick-up details will be finalized soon and updated here and on Facebook & Instragram. Leftovers wîl be sold after church on October 12th at $2/lb

You are also welcome to come help us pick on October 5th. We will be meeting in the hall at 12:45pm for a 1pm departure.

Paint Night with the CHWUC Youth Group

The Youth Group will be hosting a Paint Night in the church hall as a fundraiser for their activities on Friday,  January 17th at 7pm.

The choice of painting is “A Starry Night” shown below and cost is $45 by etransfer to lallie11@yahoo.com or $50 by credit card through Eventbrite.

The Paint Night will be led by teacher and artist, Kim Piccott. You can follow her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KimsPaintParties She will bring tabletop easels and brushes along with a sample of the chosen painting. The Youth Group is providing a canvas for each person (11×14), paint, a disposable tablecloth, paper plates, paper cups and paper towel. Kim will guide us step-by-step through the painting process, until everyone has a complete masterpiece to take home!

The Annual Auction & Potluck is October 5th

We will need donations in by Saturday, September 21.

No need to register to attend.

Doors will open at 5:00pm, Potluck starts at 5:30pm, auction to follow at 6:30pm.

Since this is a Time & Talent Auction, please no yard sale items.

Also, please indicate your names and contact numbers on all donations when they are dropped off. (There was some confusion last year).

Alzheimer’s Society of NS Presentation on Dementia – September 9, 2024

Shelby Riley of the Alzheimer’s Society will deliver a presentation on “Understanding Dementia” in our sanctuary on Monday, September 9, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Shelby will speak to her PowerPoint notes and will answer questions. She will also bring printed material that folks can take away.

I hope you can all attend. Feel free to bring a friend – from our church or elsewhere.
