Phase 2 CHWUC Member Survey 2023

The Visioning Committee would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who completed the Phase 1 survey. Please note that everyone can participate in this survey and it is not limited to those who completed the first one. Before we proceed with the second survey let us share some of the feedback that we received from the Phase 1.
– 93% of the people who responded confirmed that their needs are being met at Cole Harbour Woodside United Church (CHWUC).
– 88% who responded are active in CHWU mentioning worship, being close to nature, fellowship outreach and ministries.
– About 15% to 20% of respondents actively engage CHWUC online
– The most pressing justice issues include, food insecurity, racism, refugees, residential schools and the environment
– In our community the most pressing issues include, health care access, food insecurity, housing and senior support.
The questions on this survey were created based on the answers to the Phase 1 survey. The Phase 1 questions have been reiterated here and are followed by a brief explanation of the Phase 2 question that follows. The goal of this survey is to assess the interest in ideas that were generated to address the views and desires of the people at CHWUC. A variety of programming and committees have been recommended. We want you to know as you complete this survey that we envision these programs and committees meeting regularly but that each committee/group will determine the number of meetings per year that is appropriate.
We hope that we have covered a range of opportunities so that everyone can find something that they would enjoy doing and feel valued in participating.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Please note that the results of this survey will not be anonymous unless otherwise indicated for each question. The reason for this option is so that we can know who is interested in each activity and they will be contacted. We understand that some people may not be comfortable answering all of the questions. We want to hear from you especially if you are not interested in any of the suggestions we have made. We will listen respectfully. All answers and conversations will be held in confidentiality by the Vision Committee members.

2023 CHWUC Visioning Survey – Part 1

The CHWUC Visioning Committee wishes to thank each and every one of our church family. Thank you for everything you do within our walls and for all you do in our community that makes “Offering the Care and Comfort of Christ” a fitting vision for our church. We also want to thank everyone who has volunteered their time in the past for, without you, our church would not exist today. Thank you to everyone who shows up on Sunday for service whether it is in person or via Zoom or YouTube for, without you, worship would be less powerful; “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” – Matthew 18:20
The Visioning Committee have developed the following questions to aid us in getting to know CHWUC’s congregation better. We wish to understand what is important to all of you so that we envision the programs and support for the causes that are relevant within our church family and out in our immediate community. The United Church of Canada has a new Call and Vision. It is “Deep Spirituality, Bold Discipleship, Daring Justice”. The following questions have been developed based on this Call and Vision using documents found on the UCC website and through other resources available through UCC and Atlantic School of Theology.

This is part 1 of 2 surveys that will be shared with the congregation. The survey results will be used by the Visioning Committee in confidence. You may submit your survey anonymously or you may add your name at the end so that we may reach you for further information. There will also be paper versions of this survey available in the Narthex.
